This is seen as a safer, better-for-you mineral option than Nano Zinc Oxide because Non-Nano Zinc Oxide has a larger particle size than Nano Zinc Oxide (larger than 100 nanometers) which means that is too large to penetrate the skin (i.e. doesn’t enter the bloodstream) and stays on the surface of the skin to reflect UV rays. Non-Nano Zinc Oxide is also considered reef-safe and less toxic to marine life than Nano Zinc Oxide.
Plus our Non-Nano Zinc Oxide offers an advanced upgrade in mineral-based sun protection by providing broad-spectrum coverage, shielding skin from both UVA and UVB rays, with a sheer, barely-there finish along with antibacterial properties that help combat bacteria and protect the skin barrier.

In the context of sunscreen (even mineral-based SPF), there are concerns surrounding industrialized seed oils due to oxidation, inflammation, and skin sensitivity when these oils are exposed to sun and heat. Industrialized seed oils (like sunflower, canola, soybean, cottonseed, and safflower) are highly unstable when exposed to heat, light, and oxygen. On your skin, this means they can lead to the production of free radicals, which can damage skin cells, speed up aging and contribute to inflammation.
By excluding industrialized seed oils, we avoid unstable, inflammation-prone ingredients and instead use saturated and monounsaturated fats (like tallow from grass-fed cows, coconut oil and mango butter) that are much more stable in sunlight, supportive of the skin’s natural lipid barrier and non-oxidizing, which means no sneaky free radical generation under UV exposure.

Uses helps prevent sunburn if used as directed with other sun protection measures.
Warnings for external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs. When using this product keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove.
Directions For full protection, apply generously and evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply:
- after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating
- immediately after towel drying at least every 2 hours.
Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including:
- Limit time in the sun, especially from 10am-2pm.
