Is the tallow used 100% grass-fed and finished?: As a natural and sustainable brand, we only use tallow from grass-fed cows that are humanely raised + processed. Because we believe in the nose-to-tail philosophy and that every part of the animal has a purpose, we use the tallow from animals that are being processed for their meat so that nothing is wasted. These cows are pasture raised and considered "beyond organic." Many small farms can't afford the additional costs of organic certification even though their standards exceed the USDA organic standards. Our founder’s family started a beyond organic pasture raised livestock farm so she has actually been a part of the rendering process and has experienced this process from start to finish. As a USDA product, the tallow is processed at temps to kill any pathogens.
It says best if used within 6 months. Is this because of the tallow? Can I still use it if it’s passed the 6 month mark?: Thanks for reaching out! All of our products have a best if used within date printed on the label. This starts from the date of purchase. Some products can definitely be used after this date but we simply suggest the use by date for the freshest experience. These dates usually range from 6 months to 1 year depending on the product.
Is this safe for daily use during pregnancy? Asking because of bergamot and tea tree oil.: Thank you for reaching out about the ingredients we use and we would be happy to help! Taking extra precautions when it comes to nurturing little lives is of the utmost importance to us. We’ve done extensive research in regards essential oil use during pregnancy + while nursing, and feel confident that all of our products (aside from Fancy Face Serum for which we offer a pregnancy-safe version) do not pose a risk for pregnant/nursing women. Check with your healthcare practitioner prior to use if you have questions/concerns.
Can this be used as a moisturizer by itself or does it have to be used after the serum? I just purchased the serum but am finding it’s feeling too heavy and not fully absorbing into my skin, even with using a a drop or two, so I’m wondering if using this instead may be a lighter option for my oily skin.: Hi Michele, Great question! The Clarifying Cream definitely provides a heavier level of moisture to the skin. We'd suggest applying the serum as part of your PM routine and then simply splashing with water in the morning.
