The Beauty of Doing Less

Today’s Reflection

Spring is here. The earth is awakening, vibrant with life, and there’s an undeniable sense of new beginnings in the air. It’s easy to get swept up in the energy of this season – the blooms, the sunshine, the new growth. There’s a natural pull to do more, to take on new projects, to fill our days with activity and our shelves with new things. It’s tempting to pursue the “more” that spring seems to invite, especially with so much new energy all around us.

But this season, I want to gently encourage a different approach. Instead of focusing on adding more to our lives, may we embrace the quiet wisdom of doing less. Spring doesn’t just bring energy – it brings a subtle reminder that in simplicity, there is beauty.

It’s in the beauty of doing less that we actually make room for more. Fewer commitments on our schedules can lead to more reflection and connection. Fewer skincare products mean more space for the natural balance of our skin’s microbiome to thrive. By removing the excess, we invite clarity, abundance and beauty. This is the true essence of spring: not just renewal, but also release.

It’s not just about emptying out a junk drawer or deep cleaning our home – it’s about creating space for more of what nurtures us, and less of what drains us. Clutter can show up in many ways: the things we keep around out of obligation, the commitments we feel we should take on, or the mental and emotional weight we carry from the past. Spring is an invitation to cleanse, to simplify, to do less so we can breathe more deeply and move forward more freely.

The beauty of doing less is that we often discover we need less to feel fulfilled, nourished, and connected. We don’t need an overstuffed closet or a packed agenda to feel abundant. We don’t need a complicated skincare routine to glow from within. Less allows us to experience life more fully because we are not distracted by the noise of excess. When we release what’s unnecessary, we create space for more of what truly brings us joy, peace, and purpose.

Spring’s gentle nudge to simplify is a gift. It’s an opportunity to release what’s no longer needed and make space for what truly matters. This season is all about renewal, but that renewal comes through shedding the old, lightening our load, and stepping into a simpler, more aligned way of living.

Today’s Ritual

This spring, I invite you to let go of the unnecessary commitments, the items that have lost their meaning, the thoughts and emotions that weigh you down. Here are a few journal prompts and breath prayers to guide you as you lean into this simplicity:

1) What areas of my life feel cluttered or overwhelming right now, and how can I simplify them?

2) What practices or products no longer serve me, and what can I release to create more space for what truly matters?

3) How can I create more margin in my daily routine for moments of creativity and connection?

Inhale: "I release what no longer serves me."
Exhale: "I embrace the peace of simplicity."
Inhale: "I make space for abundance."
Exhale: "I trust in the beauty of less."

As you embrace the beauty of doing less, may you discover even more abundance and alignment within you and around you. Courtney xx
